John A. Fidler RIBA, IHBC, FRICS, FSA, FIIC, FAPT is a staff consultant and the corporate practice leader for preservation technology with Simpson Gumpertz & Heger Inc. (SGH) in the Los Angeles office of the national firm of consulting engineers. He was formerly the Conservation Director of English Heritage in London and has over 30 years experience specializing in the conservation and repair of historic buildings, ancient monuments and of archaeological sites. Until 2007 he was Vice President of ICCROM (the International center for Studies in the Conservation and Restoration of Cultural Property) in Rome and sat on the Conservation Committee of the Getty Foundation.
John has served on the WC-APT Board since 2006.
