France's Ministry of Culture, which is responsible for the stewardship of the country's historic structures, had its beginnings in the 1800s and has influenced preservation standards and government systems all over the world, including the United States.  Constance Lai, AIA - recipient of the 2017 Richard Morris Hunt Prize - will give a lecture sharing her research.  The presentation will provide an overview of the history of the French conservation movement and its impact historic preservation in the United States, as well as how the dialogue between countries continues to this day. 

 This lecture is a joint event with AIA- HRC and WCAPT and will be located at AIA's San Francisco headquarters.  Lunch will be provided, and registrants will be contacted prior the event.
